TROY CHEAH
There are so many important lessons that Troy has learned through his experiences at Beedie that he would like to share. However, based on his experiences, the number one guidance that he would share is to put yourself out there, be open to meeting and talking to others, whether it be peers or senior students- don’t be afraid of judgment or others’ regard. In his first year, he was very quiet and afraid of putting himself out there, and it took a lot of encouragement for him to step out of his comfort zone, join clubs, start networking, and engage in this amazing community of students. He would also like to share his experiences in classes- how to study effectively, maintain a study-work-life balance, and achieve higher grades with less effort and more intentional, methodical study methods. Lastly, he would like to encourage his mentees to get involved in clubs in whichever ways they can, push themselves to compete in case competitions, and just overall engage in the community.
