When Sonakshi was going into her second year, she became close friends with another student who was just entering her first year. Since then, they have discussed a variety of topics, both related to networking/career/school and other life events (as friends do). On multiple occasions, she was able to provide guidance and advice on these various topics based on her positive and negative experiences since starting at Beedie. These discussions have always proven fruitful for her friend, and for herself too. She has also always felt content after being able to help her friend. She realized that every year, there are many first-year students who could use some guidance and support as they get used to a new normal, especially if they are international students. She didn't really have one person she could always reach out to for Beedie advice, and so she wants to become a BMP mentor to help students and make a positive impact on campus. She genuinely hopes to become someone that other students can feel confident and comfortable reaching out to, and she hopes to help them in any way she can!
