Sara believes everyone has something to teach, regardless of age or background. In her first year, she joined BUDP as a mentee, and it became one of the most impactful experiences of my time at Beedie. Having a mentor who had already walked the path she was just beginning helped her grow in ways she didn’t expect. She developed practical skills such as public speaking through Pitch Off, networking through workshops, and built meaningful connections with both peers and mentors. Being a part of BUDP gave her direction, confidence, and a sense of community. Now as she is entering her 4th year, she would love to give that same experience back. From her experience as a mentee, she knows how powerful guidance can be during those first uncertain months. That’s why she wants to be a mentor: to help new students find their footing, discover opportunities early, and feel supported as they begin their Beedie journey.
