Having been deeply involved in the Beedie community and as someone who's benefitted from strong mentorship myself, Sahej is excited to now give back and support others. He remembers how overwhelming first year felt, and how impactful it was to have upper-year students who genuinely cared. Now that he’s grown both personally and professionally, he wants to be that resource for someone else. Without the people who were there in his Beedie journey, he would not be able to accomplish a lot that he is proud of today, and he believes it’s his turn to pay it forward. Whether it’s helping a mentee find their footing, explore extracurriculars, or navigate co-op and career options, he wants to offer the kind of support that builds confidence and direction. At the same time, he sees this as a chance to grow his leadership and communication skills. As the President of a student association and a TA, his leadership is mostly seen in larger group settings, and he wants to be able to grow his skills in a one-on-one settings.
