What is BMP?

The BASS Mentorship Program (BMP) connects senior student leaders with incoming first-year students to help them navigate university life, explore Beedie community opportunities, and build lasting connections. This mentorship program pairs mentees with mentors at a two-to-one ratio, fostering personal and professional growth in a supportive environment over four months. Through practical advice and personal experiences, mentors empower mentees to make informed decisions during their time at the Beedie School of Business.

Mentor of the Week

  • First Event: Mentor Swap

    A one-day event where mentees will have a chance to expand their network by meeting other senior mentors and learning about their experiences in the Beedie community through a rotational system.

  • Second Event: Trio Tactics

    Trio Tactics is a low-stakes, skill-building event designed to challenge mentorship trios to solve complex business problems. Mirroring real-world scenarios, this case competition pushes participants to think strategically, work collaboratively, and present their ideas confidently. It’s a hands-on learning experience that develops critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills, preparing students for the competitive business landscape.

  • Third Event: Pitch Off

    A capstone event where mentees have the opportunity to practice and perfect an elevator pitch for themselves, and is often the first “formal networking” event for most mentees. They will receive useful feedback from industry professionals in a safe space.

  • Final Event: Next Steps

    A celebratory awards dinner that recognizes the achievements of the mentees and mentors throughout their year in Beedie.
