Alyssa wants to become a mentor because she really enjoys helping others with exploring their academic and extracurricular paths at SFU. She’s gained a lot of experience through her involvement at SFU, and she’d love to pay it forward by guiding others through courses, clubs, and career opportunities. As a LAUNCH leader last year, she had the chance to welcome and support first-year students, helping them feel more connected to the SFU community and introducing them to events and student organizations. She’s especially motivated to give back because she had a great mentor herself who made a lasting impact on her first year. She hopes to build the same kind of meaningful, supportive relationships and create a safe space for her mentees to learn, grow, and get involved.
